Anne Rice Finds Jesus, Jesus "Skeeved Out," Hiding
Newsweek
Anne Rice, hack author who ruined vampires forever by modifying them from horrifying undead creatures shambling forth from their graves to sup on your blood into vaguely gay eurotrash hanging out in clothing-optional nightclubs drinking blood martinis, has apparently "found Jesus."
He was behind her couch. She was looking for her keys and out popped Jesus. He offered her some bread, and when she accepted, He handed her his foot, which she then ate.
She's about to publish a book about Jesus. Somewhere, angry sermons are already being written. They'll be given an action-prior-to-the-snap penalty, as I guarantee you this'll be condemned well before anyone reads it. Sure, it's unfair, but, one has to admit, making the transition from The Author of That Book Where the Vampire's a Rock Singer to The Author of That Book Where Jesus Probably Wears a Shirt With a Ruffled Collar and Has a Very Close Male "Friend" is exceedingly rocky.

We would do well to heed the example of Bob Dylan (who seems to have left the evidence of his conversion back in the 1980s) and not put Anne Rice on a pedestal. A new believer who views Jesus through the lens of a supernatural thriller makes a poor spokesperson for historic Christianity.
Sorry, here's the link to more on Ann Rice: http://blogginoutloud.blogspot.com/2005/10/vampire-author-washed-in-blood.html
