Our Deadly Star

Run for shade! The World Health Organization has released a startling report: UV radiation from the sun causes 60,000 deaths a year in the form of skin cancer. And here I thought that the sun was just up there, burning away, fostering life, occasionally belching out solar flares and causing pretty auroras. And yes, giving some people skin cancer. Turns out I'm way off. The sun is a heartless malevolent ball of gas hell-bent on destroying the human race at a staggeringly slow pace. Something must be done! Thank goodness for WHO!

The report fails to mention the 6,530,853,975 people the sun doesn't kill every year.
